How to Care for Your Silk Scarf
Preserve the beauty of your Studio Manza Sima silk scarf as it is an investment into your new bold and daring lifestyle. It is always best to entrust it to a professional but in the case that dry cleaning is not an option, the steps below will guide you to properly wash, dry and store your silk scarf.
Washing
When it comes to washing your silk scarf, it is always best to entrust it to a professional. In the case that dry cleaning is not an option, the steps below will guide you to properly wash your silk scarf.
Hand wash your silk scarf in cold water.Do not wring, twist, or rub the silk scarf while washing. Wringing your scarf will damage the silk fibres.
Use gentle detergent. No bleach or harsh chemicals.
Swish silk scarf gently and slowly.
Do not wash with other colours.
If machine washing, place scarf in a mesh bag to protect scarf from any abrasive damage and choose delicate wash option.
Drying
Do not tumble dry or leave it out in direct sunlight for too long. Exposing your scarf to long bursts of sunlight can cause the colours to fade and or damage the natural fibres. Tumble drying can also shrink the scarf. It is best to hang your scarf to dry.
One cool way to steam your silk scarf if you're without a steamer, is to hang it in the bathroom while you take a hot shower :D. You can also invest in a steamer or silk friendly iron for the wrinkles and creases.
Storage
Store your SIMA silk scarf flat and untied to avoid creases and wrinkles.Avoid storing it in a plastic bag as the plastic can lock in moisture. We recommend breathable fabrics.
At Studio Manza, we think it is very important to properly care for all your garments and not just your silk scarves. Taking proper care of your garments make them last longer and reduces waste.
